How To Love is a Fort Worth nonprofit built on a simple belief: care becomes real when love becomes practical. Our goal is to provide impoverished communities with essential information, valuable resources, and multifaceted programs that contribute to sustainable, stable lives—consistently and without conditions.
HTL started in 2026 with a couple of folding tables and the inventory from a former gift shop. That yard sale became our first event for our first program to provide for impoverished residents in the community.
Today we run three programs across the neighborhood. The Impoverished Community Relief provides essential needs and resources. The Peer Mentorship provides one-on-one emotional support, and The Power of Awareness raises awareness of the importance of mental and physical wellness and political awareness.
What we hold to
Listen first
We never arrive with a plan. Every program begins with months of kitchen-table conversations with the neighbors it is meant to serve.
Dignity always
No means testing, no lines, no proving your need. Support offered with conditions attached isn't support — it's leverage.
Neighbors, not clients
The person receiving help this month often leads the work next month. Everyone here is both giver and receiver.
Stay close
We grow by depth, not headcount. If we can't remember your name, we've grown in the wrong direction.

HTL started with a couple of folding tables and the inventory from their former gift shop. While running their gift shop, they were reminded of the struggles of the people in the community and decided to launch a helpful, healing organization for those people and many others.
